      1. Scrape paint and wallpaper...
      2. Remove loose and damaged plaster...
      3. Patch with drywall/sheetrock/wallboard...
      4. Tape and spackle with joint compound...
      5. Wash mildewed plaster with dilute bleach...
      6. Wash ceiling with degreaser, rinse...
      7. Fill holes, cracks, and uneven areas - sand - remove sanding dust...
      8. Spot prime ('Gripper' latex primer) entire perimeter, all stains, new plaster, and wallboard...
      9. Test paint adhesion...
      10. One complete coat of acrylic matte medium (clear)...
      11. One complete coat of gesso (white, untinted)...
      12. Fill previously unseen dings with patching plaster - sand - prime...
      13. Test paint adhesion...
    • Perimeter base
      1. Lay out perimeter using laser level - mask with blue tape...
      2. Perimeter base coat - tinted gesso

      3. Perimeter first patina coat (rag scumble) - acrylic glaze

      4. Perimeter second patina coat (brush stipple) - acrylic glaze

      5. Lay out paneling contours in 2H pencil...

        • mid-shade (burnt umber glaze - 1-3 coats)

    • Map panelling insets
      1. Mask perimeter with blue tape
      2. Cover background with 3/4 Swedish blue, 1/8 Brilliant blue, 1/8 matte medium
      3. Before dry, scumble rag texture of 1/2 Swedish blue, 1/2 matte medium
      4. Final scumble rag over-texture of same glaze with touch of Mars black
      5. Edge shadowing
      6. "Paper" effect rendering

      1. Apply sky glazes
