The ceiling surface was inspected, and compared with a similar ceiling upstairs that is in mid-renovation. We discussed the relative merits of refinishing the ceiling ourselves, and having a drop ceiling put in. I am still undecided about this, although at the time I leaned toward refinishing it. If we refinish it, it will be done in a separate, as yet unplanned, visit sometime between March 1-Apr 1. I am researching the costs of a proper drop ceiling for this purpose.

I took photos, measurements, conducted some perspective studies; we talked about lighting, room usage, layout, furnishings, the woodwork, floor; Karl is considering a vented gas fireplace on the west wall.

We talked about style, Victoriana, eclecticism. We talked about the loss of the ancient tree in the back yard.
